Rosie Perez

 Rosie Perez, born Rosa Maria Perez on September 6 1964 is an American choreographer and actress. Her first big break came with Tina's performance in Do the Right Thing (1989), then followed by White Men Can't Hop (1992). Perez's portrayal of Tina in Fearless (1993) brought her nomination for the Academy Award, Best Supporting Actress and other honors. It Could Happen to You (1994) and The Road to El Dorado(2000) The Road to El Dorado (2000), Pineapple Express(8) and Birds of Prey(2020) are among her most recognizable films.





 Perez was awarded three Primetime Emmy Award nominations (in 1990-1994) and another Emmy Award nomination for her performance in The Flight Attendant (2020-2024). She has performed in stage shows on Broadway like The Ritz, Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune, and Fish in the Dark. She also co-hosted on the ABC talk show The View during the series the 18th season.





 Early life



 Perez was born September 6 1964 in Brooklyn to Lydia Perez (a merchant mariner seaman) and Ismael Serano (a Bushwick neighborhood resident). [3][4][5The girl's name was Lydia Fontanez. Lydia Fontanez, y Reyes, was her mother. She was born on the 13th, 1939, in Humacao. Her father was born in Aguadilla in Puerto Rico. Her mother was married to a man 20 years older than her, Arturo Perez. Following an affair with the father of Serrano, Perez's mother had already been blessed with five kids. Perez was born at the now-closed Greenpoint Hospital located in the Greenpoint neighborhood in Brooklyn.





 Perez is one of the ten children that her mother borne. Rosie as well as her siblings were raised in Bushwick and their mother was held for indefinite periods. The mother of her child was born to her youngest child while she was in jail. After being raised by her aunt, she ended up in group homes and foster care. The siblings of her were often split. She was transferred to an institution for foster children and was in foster care in New York and Peekskill until age eight. The state of New York considered her an ward by the State of New York from age 12 onwards. Aunt and mother often visited her, and her father tried unsuccessfully to take custody of her.
